Irene Yang handles US and Canadian investments as an Investment Principal & Director with BASF Venture Capital, a global $250mn CVC evergreen fund investing in Series A & B start-ups. We invest in disruptive technologies and sustainable business models across agriculture, automotive and EV/battery value chains, home and personal care, textiles, packaging, plastics, and mining & metals. Investments focus on decarbonization, circular economy, AgTech, new materials, hardware, and software.
Joining BASF in 2013, Irene has worked for BASF Asia Pacific, U.S., and Canada, and was previously BASF’s Director of Business Development & Innovation. Earlier, Irene was a Director of Product Management with AMD and a consultant with McKinsey (global energy & materials). Irene earned her MS Engineering and MBA degrees from MIT (Cambridge, MA), and B. Eng. & Management degree from McMaster University.
